• What kind of film can you make?

Culture Y allows any kind of film style and technique. We encourage you to be as creative as possible with your approach.

 

• How long can my film be?  

5-10 minutes long

• What kind of film equipment can I use?

Culture Y allows any form of camera and sound equipment. For example, you can use your phone, a professional camera, camcorder, and any other form of film equipment you want to.

 

Culture Y requests that you check that your equipment can convert your film to one of the following format: mp4, .mov, .avi, .wma, .m4v. In case there are more questions regarding this issue please email: culturey2018@gmail.com

 

• When can we start working on the film?

You can start working on the film whenever you would like, just please remember to register with Culture Y by the sign-up deadline!

 

Do we have to acknowledge every contribution to the film?

Yes. Make sure you offer thanks for any special permission you were given and be sure to give credit to every member of your cast and crew in the credits at the end of the film.

 

Will the credits be included in the time requirements?

No.

 

• Do I have to have a team?

Culture Y does not require that you work in a team. If you want to create your film independently, please select a team name anyway (it can be your own name) to identify you.

 

• Can we use people outside of the university to help with our film?

Yes, but you must distinguish in credits that they are not university members. University members include students, faculty members, and employees of the University of St Andrews.

 

• When and how do I submit my film?

You must submit your artwork by March 28th, 2018.
