Culture Y 2017

Culture Y 2017  is a film festival dedicated to premiering student-created short films that showcase the diversity and artistic expression of the St Andrews student body. Short films premiered during Culture Y will answer the theme of how an aspect of culture influences identity. How filmmakers choose to answer this theme is entirely up to them. Culture Y will include an official judging panel composed of faculty members and students who are expected to evaluate each film on its artistic and compositional quality. The audience of Culture Y will also vote for an audience’s pick award. Awards will be given to films that are voted best by both the audience and judging panel. Furthermore, Culture Y is dedicated to helping students reach their artistic potential and offer support and workshops before the event in order to allow participating students to best produce their short films.

--"All in all, this film festival was a truly engaging event, and an exciting opportunity to witness the filmmaking talents of the St Andrews student body. I look forward to the opportunity to revisit this event in next year’s On the Rocks Festival, and urge others not to pass up the opportunity to attend."
